Hickory, dickory, dock Will ‘tyranny of cousins’ decide who’ll rule " massive reduction" ?

Perception on crime now 'all important' for Hisham

Despite the " massive reduction" in crime rates as claimed by the government, we still read news on the murder of a real estate agent, death of an old lady due to a snatch theft, mafia style killings, ATM robberies and armed robberies in broad daylight, and attempted kidnappings in shopping complexes.
All these, incredibly, in just the space of a few weeks. And these were reported cases and surely, only the tip of the crime iceberg.
The relevant authorities continue with their denials, and the spin doctors working non-stop to project Malaysia as a safe country, in comparison to others.
A minister even claimed that the new media exaggerated the perception, as the same crime was reported and spread by internet, smartphones, SMS and coffeeshop talk.
Did he mean that a crime will turn into four crimes, if the same crime news was repeated in four mediums?
The traditional media and authorities, meanwhile, tries to pin the blame on the rakyat, claiming that the increase in crime is partly due to the rakyat's apathy when seeing fellow citizens being robbed.
One paper even suggested that we try to shout, show anger - a most funny and ridiculous suggestion.
Yet incredibly, these criminals and killers are "untouchables" as the police has warned us not to take the law into our own hands.
We are forced to convert our housing areas into a battle zones with gated and guarded communities, yet some of the newspapers seemed to often portray these as a nuisances, claiming that the barriers will inconvenience motorists or block emergency vehicles in times of emergencies.
How many emergencies does a housing area have?
So, what can the helpless rakyat do?? We felt so defenseless.
Will the rakyat be forced to turn into masked vigilantes like Batman and Spiderman to fight the fearless criminals?
Will we be forced to carry guns for personal protection, like the Americans??
And by the way, I myself was robbed and nearly killed, twice, by robbers near my house, who smashed my head and back with parang.
The scary thing was, these robbers will attack you before they rob you.
I still bears the scars on my skull and back today. Hickory, dickory, dock Will ‘tyranny of cousins’ decide who’ll rule ?

City police chief Ankush Dhanvijay would swear that respected citizens of the society create as many problems for him as the most hard-core goons of the city. The city cops have had their hands full over the last few months, tackling the likes of advocate Sudeep Jaiswal, Mickey Bakshi, Jayant Jhamre, the Jhamb family, Pramod Khandelwal and his team of architects and contractors.

All of them have been more or less perfect citizens, with stellar reputations, but have suddenly become involved in situations that have left the cops struggling about how to respond. Not doing anything leaves the cops facing an angry public, while the 'culprits' themselves safely hide behind legal vocabulary like natural justice, bailable offences and 'cooperating' with the investigation. On the other hand, the police have it easy when it comes to dealing with goons like three times Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) accused Santosh Ambekar.

On Saturday, Ambekar was addressing the media at Dhantoli, claiming to be innocent in an ongoing extortion investigation. At the other end of the city, district bar association president, advocate Jaiswal, was trying to intimidate a school principle at Mecosabagh, even referring to his bravado with cops outside the court just a day earlier.

During Saturday’s altercation, Jaiswal is learnt to have referred to his hand ‘brushing a police man’s cheek twice outside the court just a day ago’, and boasted that nothing happened to him. After explaining the fallout of taking ‘panga’ with him, the lawyer’s followers even followed up the lecture with a bashing session.

So, even as CP Dhanvijay was preparing a strategy to reign in the unruly DBA president over the drama outside the court on Friday, Jaiswal got into fresh trouble within 24 hours by thrashing the school principle. After the first incident, the police force were more likely to give Jaiswal some benefit of the doubt, but on Saturday, almost the entire city was demanding his arrest.

Some days earlier, in June, the railway police had been left with no option but to register offences against Mickey Bakshi and two others after a large number of NCP workers started demanding the arrest of the social activist and security guard agency owner for the kidnapping and murder of NCP leader Ganesh Mate. The city police had to chase Bakshi and his allies after the case came to Sadar police station, but their role itself came under the scanner despite putting Bakshi and other behind bars. So, the home department had to shift the probe to the state Criminal investigation department (CID).

In May, the so-called investment company owners Jayant and Varsha Jhamre gave the cops many sleepless nights. They had slipped away from the city with crores given by investors. The CP had to face morchas and delegations urging the cops to nab the Jhamres.

Before that, a 17-year-old’s joyride in his father's car went horribly wrong, leading to the death of two students and injuring three more. While the youth and his respectable family went underground, police had to spend anxious moments for over a week as they tackled growing public wrath over the teenager and his father remaining out of jail.Your primordial reaction should be one of downright disgust. How dare I plant racialism and classism amongst human sufferers in a world where All men are created equal! But are these thoughts merely snappish impertinences of useless intellectuals? Or smug imaginations of some quirky scientists bent on hacking the world into social pieces? Or do we have a rationale here?
Truth be told that there do exist diseases more inclined for the rich and affluent just as certain other diseases hog the limelight from the not so socially privileged. The immediate and easy reasons are social and directly related to economics. After all one of the cardinal indicators of health care status of a country is accessibility to health care, a direct outcome of socio-economic status. In a world of open privileges and secret connections, people with low income have neither and suffer both ways. They have neither the money to afford the very best of medicine nor do they know the right telephone numbers to access the right privileges.
One quick example and the picture will shout out loud and clean. Take for instance, breast and cervical cancers. Both are invariably higher in the underprovided populations simply because they fail to access the screening tests of mammogram and Pap smear. Lack of education, time, and of course money form the fulcrum of many a potentially preventable disaster. And again, smoking and drugs…two vices that form the sine qua non of the socio-economically backward sections typically provide with all the ingredients of unexpected and premature cardiac and cerebral fatalities.
We all know these. No rocket science behind this. It’s a global issue and spares no country. Even in United States, that represents one of the finest health care systems, discrepancies creep in. A certain taciturnity sets in whenever these disorders are noticed in the murky recesses of an otherwise good looking health care system. If you don’t have health insurances, you are in trouble. And if you attempt to socialize health system, you are barked at. Ask President Obama and you would know what I mean. Yet its implications are huge in terms morbidity and mortality.
But then let’s throw money out of the equation. Can we still have a disease that’s restricted to the upper class with or without money? According to many psychologists and to many of us…yes! Studies have shown that kids of lesser means actually do better emotionally. There’s a certain "psychosis" among upper middle class parents who are too wrapped up about where their children go to college. Getting a grade B is a disaster. Not getting into Harvard or Yale? It’s a crime! Social shame, peer pressure…and you have a nice cocktail of anxiety, stress, paranoid, depression and eventually in none too exotic situations – a plunge for the rope, the jump, or the pill. The origin of bulimia and other eating disorders sprouted from the concept of ‘thin ideal internalization’. None of these upper crust university students had any concept of hunger, for none of them never really missed a daily meal. On the contrary an over obsession for a perfect body image leads them to such compulsive purging or anorexic habits.
So, there you are…even in disease, we stand divided. Is it the money or the mind? Or a bit of both? What do you say?

Hishammudin, dont talk so much la,you and the whole UMNo are hopeless, let a new government shows you how to do after you and UMNo loss in GE13.   What is compounding the 'fear' syndrome of the public is that, not only are we faced with muggers, thieves, robbers, rapists, murderers, etc, the police themselves are no better. Instead of protecting the public, they have now joined the scums of society to terrorise the public. See news report here : http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/204039. I am wondering whether I should obtain a permit to own a handgun for self protection. an incompetent Minister. Half the time he has no clue what he is doing. He made a mess of Bersih n2 and 3. Because of him Najib is going to lose the next G.E 13. and he is going to regret for ever appointing this idiot as the home Minister. From his behaviour you can see he has an inferior complex and he thinks as Home Minister he can exert his superiority by using force. The sooner Najib change this guy the better chance he has of survival. How do you expect those criminals to fear the police when the police were acting like them during Bersih 2.0 & 3.0 rally? Instead of protecting the people, the people were brutalised by the police, the only difference between police and criminal is police wore a uniform...There it goes again...this half past six SOP man seems to have such a Standard Operating Procedure of 'don't care, deny first' then....talk nonsense later....our police sings and entertains instead of out in the streets in reducing crime, some even assault the innocent in broad day light! Ptui! safest place in the world!
The existence of crime to Hisham is only a perception. To him, if you don't think about it it doesn't exist. So the policemen can go to malls and sing to the public and the crime will go away. God save 1Malaysia from Umno idiotsThey are getting bolder because the police are busy serenading shoppers , following up on PR politicians and bloggers rather than chasing criminals onelady got robbed in Kampung Bharu in the afternoon. She stopped her car for red light when a man smashed her car window and stole her hand bag. That was daylight robbery and nothing else. The crooks and thieves are getting bolder every day. Policy changes based on perception ? He should enrol himself into a charity which teaches children with learning disabilities. What are you going to do about the perception that you are a smug, punctilious idiot who is totally out of touch with reality?
This guy ever said that there was Christian Conspiracy later to confirm it is not true. He only speaks for himself. No integrity. He even supported the cow head protest even though it is illegal and hurting other race. So he is untrustworthy as a Home Minister for Malaysia which is multiracial. He, again, speaks for himself."It's to provide a point person, be it at Bukit Aman or the Home Ministry, in terms of policy as a whole and also in micro terms. "For example, the focus before was on snatch theft but today there are cases concerning break-ins, and this requires a direction," he said. Wah, sounds so bombastic. Now please translate all that into English and also into action. WTF are you going to do about the rising crime rate, you Idiot Home Minister? must be a joke. Daily we read of people being beaten up and mugged and even murdered in broad daylight and Kris terms it as perception. For instance when crimes are openly committed such as the bullying and harassment of Dato Ambiga and her family in their own home these were the same enforcement people who turned a blind eye and some even made snide remarks that no crime has been committed. Any wonder why crime has multiplied to this level and is being committed with impunity."It's to provide a point person, be it at Bukit Aman or the Home Ministry, in terms of policy as a whole and also in micro terms. "It's to provide a point person, be it at Bukit Aman or the Home Ministry, in terms of policy as a whole and also in micro terms. Power is the glue of politics. That is why a government is expected to be in array and opposition generally in disarray. Ideology is a fickle custodian of unity in an age of convenience. Its absence has eliminated the difference between single-party rule and coalition government. Both are held together by individual or sectarian self-interest, which is why they last. Ideology is a differentiator; it makes a partnership untenable even if the partners consider it sustainable. Sentiment is irrelevant to any political marriage. This is true of all democracies where coalitions become necessary. Politicians live for power; why would they invite a premature death?
Malaysian politics, reduced to minimalist, notional ideology, devoid of individual or party accountability, is peculiarly suited to coalitions. If there were accountability, the KRIS MUDDIN would not remain in Najib’sCabinet. Because there is none, the current coalition will survive without either condemnation or confession. An occasional spot of PR-driven tinkering is all that is needed.
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 – The Home Ministry insisted today that it has closed the file on Suara Keadilan’s printing permit, indicating that the PKR organ would not be obtaining its long-awaited renewal.
The ministry’s Publications Control and Quranic Text secretary Datuk Zaitun Ab Samad told The Malaysian Insider this afternoon that as it stands, the party cannot proceed with publishing Suara Keadilan as its permit had expired last June.
“Nothing has changed. Their permit has expired and that’s that,” she said.
She insisted that there was nothing further to discuss regarding the issue, pointing out that the ministry had already informed PKR that it was not satisfied with the party’s explanation on its queries.
The ministry had earlier slapped a show-cause letter on the party, seeking for an explanation on several offensive articles it had published, including the controversial “Felda Bangkrap” article.
It held back indefinitely on its decision to renew the party’s printing permit, which had expired on June 30 this year.
“We already told them that we were not satisfied with their explanation so what does that mean? As far as we are concerned, their permit continues to be expired,” she said.
When asked if this meant that the ministry had made a decision not to renew the publication’s permit, Zaitun said: “It’s not about that. The question of renewal does not arise. Like I said, their permit expired and it remains expired. We have also said we were not satisfied with their first explanation and they have not given us another one since then.”

When informed of Zaitun’s response this evening, PKR chief strategist Chua Tian Chang chided her for making such a statement, claiming that it was “not her job” to say if she were satisfied with PKR’s explanation.

“In fact, it is not up to us to satisfy them. The question now is whether the Home Minister himself is satisfied. If not, then he should be banning us right?,” he said.
He insisted that the ministry had no power or right to stop PKR from proceeding to find ways to spread information through its newspapers.
“Just like how you can reject an application for a ceramah but you cannot stop people from gathering? They canot stop us. They can throw you in court, or arrest you but they cannot stop you,” he said.
Sometimes alliance parties find it convenient to simulate conflict, but this is public posturing to satisfy populist opinion before an election. UMNO and PAS are the new templates of posture-politics.
Our Malaysian response to a scandalous mess is neat and categorised. Cash and sex are the north and south pole of mass interest, each with a sprawling magnetic field. We divide the hemispheres with the equator of logic. Cash and corruption are the preserve of politics. Sex is the province of glamour. We refuse to recognise any cross-over evidence.

would seem hypocrisy is an official state policy in Malaysia. Here isHome Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein enjoying a few cold Anchor beer with a few ladies in his younger playboy days. These pictures have been around for some time now but it is an appropriate time to share them again in light of his recent decision to have a woman suffer from six stroke from a cane.Hishammuddin Hussein was never caned for drinking beer because certain people in Malaysia can getaway with murder while people like Kartika are treated like dogs for the most minor infractions.Yup, she is going to be punished for the same crime the Home Minister himself is no stranger to.The woman officer should have demonstrated the caning on him for his past infractions of the laws he is enforcing now.Hopefully the western media with pick up on this bit of hypocrisy.Click pictures to enlarge.

This is supposedly one of his mistresses, the air stewardess that was caught having an affair with him in Johor Bahru. And she is said to be the same lady that he took to Mongolia on a trip with the then PM.
Booze and ladies, all you need in life.

Here is his wife not to be confuse with his mistress enjoying a cold one too. She look totally wasted but she seem to be hotter than his mistress.
Here is the hypocrite minister when he is not getting wasted:
