As you may recall, I raised my concerns about 1MDB in September 2010 when Pakatan Rakyat exposed how the fund, which was already allocated RM5 billion in 2009 via government bonds, was planning to raise another RM10 billion. That would have raised the fund’s liabilities to RM15 billion by 2013, which is four times the value of bonds issued for PKFZ that amounted to RM3.68 billion.

To hoodwink the Rakyat, Dato’ Seri Najib said that 1MDB had in fact declared a profit of RM425 million in the first year of operation. He never told us how.

We have today 1MDB’s financial statements that expose BN’s blatant abuse of government funds and how it continues to mismanage the country.

1MDB was able to declare a profit for 31 Mac 2010 because it entered into a very suspicious transaction tantamount to a blatant attempt to deceive the Rakyat. The profit declared was nothing more than an accounting entry to hide a trail of arrangement to create slush funds for BN.

Hardly five months after paying RM3.5 billion in cash for an investment in a joint venture with PetroSaudi of Saudi Arabia, 1MDB sold the investment back to the owners of the Saudi concern for RM4.1 billion.

On the surface this looks like a stunning financial return; a roughly RM615 million gain that helped 1MDB show profit.

But careful reviews of the 1MDB’s financial statements show a different picture. PetroSaudi, which received cash when 1MDB bought the stake, is now paying for the transaction through an 11-year loan scheme that will only be fully repaid in 31 March 2021.

Why such a sweetheart financial arrangement?

Nearly 70% of 1MDB’S original capital is now tied-up in a loan, which there is no certainty it will be paid.

PetroSaudi and many of its associates are companies incorporated in tax havens, such as Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands. Therefore, there will not be any transparency of the transactions between 1MDB and PetroSaudi and the latter’s associates which will remain to be shrouded in secrecy.

What is even more astonishing is that the deal to sell the investment was done on 31 March 2010, which is the last day of the financial year. This sleight of hand accounting is a blatant attempt to show the dubious profit that Dato’ Seri Najib declared.

What is also as explosive is the Taib Mahmud’s connection to 1MDB and the dubious transactions it recorded.

Last year PetroSaudi paid over RM1.5 billion to takeover UBG Bhd, the financial arm of the business empire owned by Taib Mahmud’s family that was facing difficulties.

Where did that money come from?

The financial statements strongly suggest that 1MDB’s financial merry-go-round is clearly a political slush created by the BN and Najib to enrich cronies and bail them out.

Therefore, in light of the massive and unprecedented spending and political bribery seen in this Sarawak election, Pakatan Rakyat demands the following:

• An appointment of a special audit to probe into the transactions involving 1MDB, PetroSaudi and UBG to ascertain whether or not government money has been used for a slush political fund;

• The immediate halt of the company’s efforts to raise more funds from the banks until such probe is completed;

• A freeze on any attempt by BN to transfer any government property into 1MDB, such as the plan to award the company the prime piece of real estate in Jalan Cochrane; and

• A full disclosure on who is behind PetroSaudi and 1MDB to convince the Rakyat that the company is financially sound to meet all its obligations to repay the loan.

The Zionists were now looking for another demon to fight, to keep America’s defense industry churning and to see its banks minting money for the Zionist gnomes of Wall Street. Bernard Lewis, the British Jewish historian and Zionist theorist, first came out with the theory of ‘Clash of Civilization’ and fingering out Islam and Islamic World as the next demon to be slayed. Samuel Huntington in fact, took over from Bernard Lewis, to give the idea a mainstream American face, thus keeping the Zionist their strategic cover. The entire aftermath of 9/11 and the subsequent invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, have failed to get any net advantage to the US and the West, the Zionists of the US, UK, France and Israel, have now picked up the remaining business from the demise of Soviet Union.

Immediately after the disbanding of the Soviet Union, its satellite got the full force of the democratizing treatment to throw out the old communist system of governance in the newly ‘liberated’ Eastern Europe. There so many revolutions and elections, that the media marketers of the Western conspirators ran out of the names of colors and flower to go with their organized ‘Regime Change’ projects.

The strategies and tactical know-how that was available to the US Zionist operators, came out handy, when the mood in American public sagged after getting thorough beatings in Iraq and Afghanistan and it was decided to use ‘peaceful people’s protest movements’ to mount the next stage of overthrowing all the Arab countries that had been de-colonized Arab countries after the Second World War and had on necessity chosen to side with the emerging Soviet power and acquire its patronage and import its governance systems --- one party rule, 99 percent election results, most inhuman security and intelligence practices and its defence armory. Zionists figured out that unless all such Left oriented rulers who had been ensconced on their perches, for decades now, are overthrown, America’s, EU’s and Israel’s security as well as economic recovery will not be achieved. All of them have Arab and Muslim faces, but had been deriving their power from the old Soviet Union connections that had populated their entire governance systems. In the name of bringing in genuine ‘democracy’ with new Constitutions especially crafted to bind them to the West, Zionist reasoned, the world will not be fully amenable to their exploitative demands over territories, trade negotiation, defence rearmaments, cultural inroads. Their entire agenda of re-colonization of the de-colonized Arab and Muslim World was now to be managed through people’s revolution and revolts and new agents with greater public mandate through organized elections, monitored by the Western observers, with the their hand-maiden, the UN dutifully endorsing their every move, every demand.

All the Arab/Muslim, nay the entire membership of Non-Aligned movement is target of the new Zionist conspiracies.

A country like India, one of the three prominent leaders of the Non-Aligned movement was smoothly taken over with the assassination of Indian Congress leaders, Rajiv Gandhi. Tito’s Yugoslavia was disintegrated and dismantled. Sukarno’sIndonesia was smoothly taken over. The American Zionists, who have a publicly open monopoly of jobs in US State Department and its embassies and consulates around the world as well as in US Defense Department, are running the USA without the rest of the American public being even slightly aware of their exploitation by the Zionists of America.

A black American Obama was supported by the Zionists, to give the US a new face of a nation working for the ‘peace’ of the world. However, that new face was hardly meant to make any paradigm shift to America’s Zionist given policies of ‘perpetual war for perpetual peace’. The people’s revolutions all around the Middle East and Africa are activated through sleeper cells that the US has been nurturing over the years. As in crimes like murders where the beneficiary of the crime is the most obvious suspect, all new rulers so subverted by the Zionist conspirators entrenched in US administration, will first and last will be American stooges. Observe how US officially promotes people like Baradie in Egypt, another USresident Libyan in Libya. The list will be as long as the list of the newly colonized Arab/Muslim nations.

Oil is just the icing on the cake. There are so many other assets that the new Imperial power, the US and its Grand Vizier, the Jewish advisor, will be exploiting to keep their New World Order in full working shape. This is the new coming of the Western colonizer and its sweep will be much more overpowering, much more exploitative and much more dehumanizing. All Non-Aligned Nations of the world beware of the revenge of the departed colonizer. Even China’s superpower pretenses will not save it from the Zionist conspirators who are ruling USA.

Why must love be an all-encompassing self-destructive emotion? How about enjoying the emotion piecemeal and letting the resultant energy fuel the rest of your life?

There must be something about me that attracts friends to share their innermost secrets, romances and even naughty trysts with me! Or maybe it is because they know what they tell me will never come back to harm them in any manner.

What I do know is that each one of my friends who believe themselves to be in love, go through great emotional upheavals, and are more often unhappy and distracted, rather than ecstatic and peaceful. Unlike young boys and girls who share details of intimate , passionate interludes, these older men and women wish to share the pain and discomfort of adult love and exchange some advice. What is it about love that brings them so much grief?

In sharp contrast, youngsters seem so much more at ease in and out of relationships. They are able to put aside their love life to focus on studies and career. To them, romance and love are a part of life, to be shelved when more immediate needs call for attention. If a love relationship doesn’t work out, they are perfectly capable of getting up, dusting their palms and walking on to a new tie.

The older generation however, still stuck in the Paro-Devdas mode, seems to not be able to do the same with as much elan. Our stakes are higher, emotions run deeper and commitment more set in cement. The young have inspired us to explore and enter relationships, but we have not been able to learn the technique of shrugging off a relationship if it doesn’t work.

What is it that youngsters do right and we don’t ? One surely is, safety in numbers. Younger people in love, rather than secluding themselves from rest of the world, become more inclusive and meet up in groups, thus enjoying a lot of peer support. An older couple, typically builds a world for themselves, shutting out others, this being the generation that still sees a need to be clandestine and furtive about their love lives.

But more important are the expectations that we have from a relationship. When in love, we focus all our energies and attention on the loved one, and successfully suffocate the relationship slowly but surely.

Must love be such an all-encompassing emotion? Must it mean owning each and every aspect of the loved one? The days of that kind of obsessive loving are over…today take what you care for, make the most of the beautiful moments and avoid delving too deep into the rest. Once you know you cannot have everything, you give up that quest and settle down to enjoy what you do have.

Why must love follow the pattern of the proverbial dance of love and fear between the moth and the flame? The fatal attraction that leads you inexorably towards destruction? An all-consuming passion that destroys those affected totally!

What did Devdas-Paro , Heer-Ranjha , Romeo-Juliet and umpteen other star-crossed lovers achieve except to be immortalized as symbols of passionate, self-destructive love?

To replace the self-destructive moth-flame analogy, why cannot love be nurturing — as manure to a plant, oxygen to lungs, rain on parched desert land, like the warmth of a blazing flame on frozen feet, tingling them back to life? Like a cool touch on a fevered brow, like putting up tired feet after a hard day at work, the anticipation at the beginning of a great holiday or a good book read or a good film seen!

Why destroy all these ephemeral pleasures in the hope of an elusive, unreal, everlasting love? In quest of an unproven bigger pleasure, why become possessive and suffocate your relationship? The mistake we make is that we tend to try and fulfil ourselves and the innate loneliness in our innermost recesses through this one love relationship — a sheer impossibility. We use it as a window through which we expect to fulfil all our dreams and expectations. The point is that if we place the burden of all our expectations on that one relationship, we are bound to smother it.

And so, instead of bemoaning what we cannot get out of a love relationship, it would be far better to celebrate what we do get! So what if he cannot give you all his love and you have to share it with others? The point is, can you do without what you do get? If so, why risk even that bit for all? So what if you are two completely different people whose views on most worldly matters don’t match? The point is, where they do match, is the magic enough to carry you through the rest of the non-sparkly times?

In a sea of chaos, if one person’s company actually helps give you some moments of calm and happiness, does it really matter if he or she is not wholly and truly devoted to you…? If the relationship or interaction helps energise you to deal with the rest of life, why not focus on just that, and let the rest remain undisturbed?

Rather than allow love to take over your life as a deeply emotional and disturbingly intense entity , limit the intensity to the little time you spend together and use the resultant energy to fuel the rest of your life! And you will find that there is a lot more happiness and fulfilment to be found in life than love alone. To use Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s golden words, aur bhi gam hain zamaane mein mohabbat ke siwa, raahtein aur bhi hain…!

Nobody today can owe 100 per cent allegiance to you or your concerns. Love, rather than a wholesome commitment, can be had piecemeal but it can surely help empower the rest of your life and help you live it more intensely . If you can love like that, you will not have too far to look for fulfilment!
