Soi Lek demand Dr Mahathir Mohamad to be charge for treason and abuse of power the main culprit in the Project IC

Soi Lek  has called the Sabah Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants to also investigate former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and others for treason and abuse of power the RCI find Dr Mahathir Mohamad the main culprit in the Project IC, he should be hauled to the court like any other criminal traitor and be charged. This is a chance for Sabahans to get justice. RCI will be more credible if PR is vote to rule. I dont see how BN can give a credible RCI recommendations without blowing itself to pieces.
If found guilty, punishment befitting for traitors should be given without any compromise.
Even if the evil culprit disappears from this world before the sentence, a posthumous death by hanging to be announced in all newspapers throughout the world.
This will be a good lesson for future leaders NOT to miss use their powers for political gain by selling the sovereignty of a country. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
Citizenship does not come that easy to every Tom , Dick and Harry..This former pm if go by the book of law will need to be locked up behind bar for hundreds of year. Malaysia has been curse by him. I don't know if this is a punishment by gods. It is only after the majority of Malay and other bumiputra that started to rise up against him that all his evil doing is being exposed.

They finally woke up to see that this man is the incarnation of the DEVIL and this Devil is still continuing to bring HAVOC to malaysia. Where and when is the JUDGEMENT DAY for this DEVIL incarnation?Sabah’s transformation into “an apparantly compliant BN stronghold” (Brown 2004: 235) has probably been promoted and planned by Malaysian authorities: “Phantom voters” seem to have played a key role in Sabah politics during the last decade. Evidently, there is a necessity to investigate into the issue. Otherwise the situation in Sabah might easily come to a head – particularly with regard to the next general elections. The change of Sabah’s ethnic make-up contains an ever-increasing potential for conflicts. Non-Muslim natives of Sabah perceive the massive influx of immigrants and the possible “reverse takeover” as a serious threat: It is not only the fear of losing influence in terms of electoral success, the state’s infrastructural congestion is raising concern in addition. Reported crowded schools seem to be the precursor of related problems in the near future. Therefore, a Royal Commission of Inquiry is urgently needed to find a scapegoat for foreigners’ dominance, thus preventing conflicts in the multiethnic state. As long as the background and extent of Project Mahathir remains unsolved, the indigenous groups of Sabah will fear being irreversibly outnumbered and marginalised. The RCI could be the first step to counteract the trend of increasing growth rates and finally stop the practice of issuing ICs to foreigners.
: Umno-Barisan Nasional is confident of its position in Sabah despite widespread speculations that the ongoing defections have “shaken” the coalition.
Federal level Umno Puteri chief Rosnah Haji Abdul Rashid Shirlin said the defectors will not sway the coalition’s loyal supporters.
“We understand the reasons why these leaders [Beaufort MP Lajim Ukin, Tuaran MP Wilfred Bumburing and Senator Majpol Majpai] left the party.
“And of course, we will look at this as an issue of loyalty because as the president of BN [Najib Tun Razak) has said, loyalty to the party and its struggle is very important.
"It is clear that these principles were not respected by our friends who decided to choose a different direction.
"But their defection will have no impact on all our [BN] efforts here.
“BN is still the choice of Sabahans and Malaysians,” said Rosnah, the Papar MP.
Rosnah, who is also the federal Deputy Health Minister, said the coalition’s confidence was based on the findings of its latest ground reports.
“This is not just empty talk based on uncertain aspirations and facts.
“We are talking based on the researches and responses that we have collected from the ground here [Sabah] with regard to their support of the central and state governments.
“We are confident of our struggle under the leadership of the prime minister and Chief Minister Musa Aman and I trust the people of Sabah are mature enough to weigh the pros and cons of the situation,” she added.

BN optimistic about RCI
Rosnah was responding to questions on the impact of the defections and impending defection of local Umno leaders on the coalition as it heads into a precarious 13th general election.
Sabah and Sarawak are believed to be crucial to BN’s aim of retaining Putrajaya in the general election given the uncertainties in Peninsular Malaysia.
Collectively they hold 56 seats (excluding Labuan). Sabah has 25 parliamentary seats which both Najib and Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim are eyeing.
The past weeks have seen the defections of Lajim, Bumburing and Senator Majpol Majpai. They have all claimed that many more BN leaders will leave Umno and the coalition after the Hari Raya celebrations.
Meanwhile, Najib’s recent announcement of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants who were granted citizenship is aimed at regaining lost ground in Sabah.
While lauding the RCI decision, both activists and opposition groups here have questioned his sincerity and timing of his announcement.
Topping the list of concerns is the recently announced terms of reference for the RCI and the time frame for its implementation.
The RCI, they said, does not empower the commission to identify those responsible for the problems in the first place.
The RCI also does not include making recommendations about what needed to be done with illegal immigrants who became Malaysian citizens even though they did not qualify as such.
But Rosnah, however, is optimistic. She is of the view that the people will see the RCI as a positive step by the Najib administration.
“Although the issue [RCI] has been politicised by leaders from the opposition parties, what remains a real fact is that the aspiration of the people for RCI has been met… and that is a first step,” she said.

Senator S Ramakrishnan said it was an open secret that Mahathir, Umno and several government agencies were directly involved in illegally granting citizenship to immigrants.

He said the “Project IC” was done with Umno’s blessing so that the political party of its choice would rule Sabah.

He said Umno implemented the project to neutralise, split and politically weaken Kadazan-Dusuns and Chinese in Sabah.

He alleged the project had also involved certain other political parties, various government agencies including the Election Commission, departments of national registration and immigration, which all came under the Home Ministry.

“If the RCI fails to probe into all those responsible for unlawfully issuing citizenship to illegal immigrants, it would be just another [Prime Minister] Najib Tun Razak’s initiative to pacify Sabah’s political rumblings,” said Ramakrishnan.

He noted that Mahathir had recently justified his “Project IC” to issue identity cards to illegal Muslim immigrants from the Philippines and Indonesia.

Mahathir claimed that the illegal immigrants were qualified to be citizens based on their length of stay and mastering of the national language.

He questioned why the immigrants could not be accepted as citizens when they have all the qualifications.

Political appeasement

In his blog posting, he claimed that choosing not to naturalise migrants in Sabah was racist and objection against giving citizenship to them was political.

He said Malaysians should accept that their fellow citizens may come from different backgrounds.

In 1960, Sabah population comprised 32% Kadazan-Dusuns, 23% Chinese, 15.8% other Muslims, 13.1% Bajaus, 5.5% Indonesians, 4.9% Muruts, 1.6% Filipinos and 0.4% Malays.

But in 2006, the state’s ethnic composition changed drastically, comprising 25% non-citizens, 17.76% Kadazan-Dusuns, 14.62% other Bumiputeras, 13.4% Bajaus, 11.48% Malays, 9.6% Chinese, 4.8% others and 3.3% Muruts.

Disclosing the statistics, Ramakrishnan said the demographic pattern changes showed that the project had altered Sabah’s ethnic composition to favour the ruling Umno government and its political allies.

“Will the RCI investigate and take Mahathir and others responsible to court?

“Unless the RCI investigates the culprits responsible for treason and abuse of power, the whole effort would be a political appeasement,” he said.

He’s saying Pakatan is to blame because they did not stop it, but cannot blame Barisan for tabling it! Can you believe it?

So if you rape an eight-year old-girl and I did not stop you, it’s my fault, not yours. Even if you are a 90.8kg kungfu expert and I am a 36.4kg clerk who is in no position to stop you, it’s still my fault.

And Soi Lek (right) says this shows Pakatan’s “political dishonesty.”

I’m sure you have something to say, even if you are angry with XXX.

My initial response to my friend is that I did not want to waste my breath on MCA, especially on the Chuas, because the people are just fed-up with their antics that insult our intelligence.

The people are ignoring what they are saying and just cannot wait to cast their ballots in the next general election which must be held latest next June.

The BN, MCA and the Chuas can continue to insult our intelligence but we will know whether just political punishment is meted out by the rakyat after the results of the next national polls are announced.
With The Star, which MCA owns and manages directly, Soi Lek will use it to spin lies and inaccuracies against his opponents. The Star will also give no room for opposing or alternative views. That is consistency number one.

Tee Yong (left), who continually flogs the Talam issue in his bid to do a Cowgate on Pakatan Rakyat, is just plain idiotic. Instead, he is only exposing his myopic arguments over an issue which Barisan Nasional (BN) is to blame.

The debts were accumulated over the years by the corrupt BN, which is plundering the nation’s wealth until kingdom come, but Tee Yong does not give the Selangor Pakatan government any credit for recovering the multi-million ringgit debt from Talam.

Forget all the technical complexities of accounting as the man on the street is just not interested in the jargons and rhetoric dished out by Tee Yong. They just don’t have the time as they struggle to make ends meet daily.

To the man on the street, it is just a plain case of Pakatan recovering debts for the government. Whether rightly or wrongly, or wisely or foolishly, is another story.

This is unlike the BN which go out all the way to protect its greedy cronies. I doubt I need to waste time and space to list out the BN-generated financial scandals that run into billions of ringgit that belong to the people and country. That is consistency number two.

The blame game

By the way, Tee Yong even had the audacity to say he does not know whether Pakatan had committed any crime in the Talam debt-recovery exercise, but adds that there is definitely an element of criminal breach of trust.

That is also a crime my dear Tee Yong. What a nut case! Also, if a crime had been committed, do you not think the BN police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will not seize the opportunity to act?
