PAS' ideologies and position on most issues of national interest are incompatible with Pakatan. It is obvious that the collaboration so far was purely for an advantage at the polls. Now that they have increased their representation at national and state level, they seem to forget their weak position before and why it had improved in the first place. If they are unable to shed their archaic ideologies and adopt a moderate religious stance, they will destroy whatever Pakatan has built in these last 10 years. The fact that a review is being called shows their arrogance. A split between the moderates and the hard core seems to be inevitable now which is good for Pakatan in the long run. This will repair most of the damage done so far.PAS ulamah should answer, whether their CWC need to be disbanded or not... if such a big decision by cwc can be disregarded, perhaps the cwc should just close shop and hail hadi instead. Haron Din, along with the late Haron Taib and other senior ulamas have always been uneasy PAS did not have ascendency over PR and that the ulamas' influence had been limited while they are in PR. Nik Aziz is obviously stepping back due to age and health, and with the passing of Haron Taib, Haron Din is seeing an opportunity to assert himself and reclaim to himself and the ulama class greater powers. In this he has the support of Hadi and other ulamas in executive positions like the Kelantan MB, Nasruddin and Nik Abduh. It is hot-air to claim PAS is slandered as the betrayal was in fact openly done by Hadi and the Majlis Syura in the MB's case. And there has been no shortage tit-for-tats from PAS as well. It is hilariously ironic for Haron Din to claim it was the clerics who repaired relationships when they initiated the recent breach. Has he forgotten who put an extra candidate in Kota Damansara as well? Let PAS decide its own course and destiny, but let it stop denying its actions
The only way to put Haron Din and his fellow travellers in their place is via a dissolution of the Selangor state assembly, which can be engineered by PKR and DAP. The state elections will result in a wipe out of these jokers. If Pakatan is lucky it may win enough via DAP and PKR to continue to rule in the state. The big PAS losses will enable the progressives in the party to regain control and direction of PAS, and hence play a constructive role in the Pakatan coalition. “The ‘tahaluf’ takes place upon the advice of the ulama … it is allowed because rules and conditions are met. So long as these rules and conditions are met, the ulama form the shield. Defend the ‘tahaluf’ for the sake of Islam and Muslims, not for the interests of individuals.
“If the ‘tahaluf’ is tainted, the conditions violated, the rules broken, it is fitting that the ulama reconsider if it should be continued.
“(If) the conditions have been violated, it is the ulama’s responsibility to correct the situation … I ask that it be looked at again,” he said.
