Nazir Razak still caught between cliché and spasm

In the Euromoney article entitled, "CIMB's Nazir battling Malaysia’s demons", there is also a Game of Thrones-inspired image of a Malay warrior in the middle of two armies.it’s not about rags to riches but about riches to rags.
Failing to respond this time would encourage as if I not not capable enough to deal with any situation.with global political scenario today different.Commenting on this in an Instagram posting, the banker remarked: "Although flattering me with the super-muscular appearance, the artist is not giving me much chance of survival, in the middle of two fierce-battling forces! Oh well, so long as I think I did right by Dad's legacy and kids are proud."

In the Euromoney article entitled, "CIMB's Nazir battling Malaysia’s demons", there is also a Game of Thrones-inspired image of a Malay warrior in the middle of two armies.Commenting on this in an Instagram posting, the banker remarked: "Although flattering me with the super-muscular appearance, the artist is not giving me much chance of survival, in the middle of two fierce-battling forces! Oh well, so long as I think I did right by Dad's legacy and kids are proud.""Investors today have a choice. They have vast choice. And Malaysia, even with everything else being equal, has a challenge, because we are a small economy, and we have strength but we also have this weakness that we are relatively small."If I set up in Indonesia, I've got a market of 200 million people. Malaysia's 10 percent of that."I've always maintained Malaysia has to work harder, much harder than the bigger markets. And a situation like that… when investors see something like the 1MDB fiasco, and don't understand it, they are left to question whether Malaysia condones the weak governance practices that were evident, and [they] have questions about the big institutions. It makes it difficult for us to promote Malaysia," he said.Responding to the revelation that linked him to the 1MDB issue, which prompted the banker to go on leave pending CIMB's internal probe, Nazir said he was upset to have found himself in that position.
"We have our own laws and regulations and practices, so within that I knew I wasn’t doing anything wrong," he says. "But when the story came out in the WSJ, external observers were wondering: what on Earth is this? So that's why I had to take the step to clear my name."And the reason why this story comes up is because of the questions around the legitimacy of the funds that I was given, that's why it became a story. Without that, there's no story."
To a question, Nazir said he believed the money he had helped channel for his brother was campaign donation."And that may not be a done thing in all countries, but that happens in many countries in an election period."I'd say that I found it… it was upsetting to be dragged into this whole 1MDB controversy."I'd never in my wildest dreams thought that what I was asked to do had anything to do with 1MDB. So when the furore came out and it got linked to 1MDB, of course it was very upsetting, because I was determined that CIMB be nowhere near 1MDB," he saidThough being cleared of any wrongdoing on his part, Nazir, according to the article, suggested that from an international perspective viewpoint, it does not look normal for a bank chairperson to distribute US$7 million of contributions to political parties through his own account at the behest of a sibling prime minister.Every time we deal with CIMB now, this is going to be flagged by compliance and we will have to explain why," the magazine quoted one international banker as saying.Nazir was also questioned on how CIMB was affected by his name being linked to 1MDB, to which, he replied: "There are always incidents and challenges, and the key thing is how banks respond to them.”"In this instance it was very much a personal matter, and I dealt with it in that way. It wasn’t so much about CIMB; it was my account that happens to be in CIMB as you would naturally expect. I would like to think we've kept CIMB very much away from this whole thing."

What holds this pattern together is the unique ability of Najib to speak to a powerful if barely articulated need to be led by someone who shows no signs of doubt or weakness. By not engaging in any real dialogue or answering any questions, by using the codes of authority and power extensively and speaking on substantive issues only once in a while, Najib exudes an aura that now exists as an independent entity, one that is virtually exempt from having any of his actions seen as being connected to his image. His supporters are able to see in him whatever they wish to; he needs to hold his pose and not to do anything that would damage that aura. In other words, he needs to continue to look the part of Najib. virtually for the first time Najib’s support base asking questions of him. Indeed, an anticipatory disappointment has been haunting the by lanes of Twitter.  At stake is Modi’s reputation as someone strong and clear-headed, who will brook no nonsense from any quarter. Najib’s speech made it clear that the his government is unlikely to do anything precipitate. Instead of making bellicose statements, Najib chose instead to outline what he called a ‘tacit acknowledgement of the long standing principle of strategic restraint’. In other words, deal with the issue with the maturity and restraint that is expected of responsible governments. It is unlikely that the adoption of such a course of action will please the support base; indeed
their shows and have in their unrestricted imaginations, successfully annihilated Mahathir and his gang

the envy of democratically elected leaders anywhere in the world. Even those that disagree with the extent of Najib’s popularity will be hard put to deny the intensity of the following that he commands. At a time when politicians have lost all respect, for a career politician to evoke such feelings is quite remarkable.

At the heart of Najib’s appeal lies his ability to exude an aura of strength and clarity. There is a strong sense that the weakness that many middle class Malaysians fear in themselves, is wholly absent in Najib. This is the one quality that sets Modi apart and gives his supporters a presumptive belief that makes it possible for them to see strength and clarity even where none might be on display.

And yet, a dispassionate examination of his actions since assuming office would show that there is little reason to believe thatNajib is looking to change things in any fundamental or radical way. That is not to say that his government has not acted at all, but only that there is little to show by way of discontinuous and bold change. On the economy, the changes have been present but the scale of ambition has been modest. It has become clear that the Najib government will govern in increments rather in leaps, that it will aim for rational continuity rather than fundamental overhaul with
Finance Minister II Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani strongly behind

The strategy of adopting incremental change at an official level while allowing a much unrulier discourse to prevail in the public domain helps creates a sense of change without actually bringing it about. The lack of radical change, whether it is in terms of electoral, economic or administrative reform, or in terms of bringing traditional right wing concerns to the fore,  is managed by an air of aggressive posturing and a careful shaping of perceptions. In the last few months, the government’s handling of media has become much more skillful, and after the adoption of the nationalist narrative, it has managed to have a sizeable chunk of media speaking aggressively on its behalf.

Says the bunch of clowns who deny PM who is MO1...

When you talk at umno gatherings you can tell your mythical stories but not to the Rakyat. The Elections Con-mission is run by the umno government and its only job is keep Najib in power so that he can continue to plunder the country

"Baling batu, sembunyi tangan" as the Malays would say to Adnan's statement. The EC is directly under the PM, who is president of UMNO. Who's Adnan trying to fool? Otherwise why redelineate? UMNO is desperate of a victory in GE14; it lost the popular vote in GE13. Without redelineation, it might lose the seats that could make it an opposition post GE14. Najib just needs to make a simple phone call to the EC chief to do the needful.
Of course UMNO/BN has nothing to do with the EC, after all the EC does not need to be told what to do. They are not that stupid that they must sit down with the UMNO/BN to discuss things. Such ways are the stupid ways of the Opposition, like the kajang Move and many other crappy things they done.
PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli watered down widespread concern in the opposition that the recent redelineation exercise by the Election Commission was to create more Malay majority seats.
According to many in the opposition, the move would benefit BN Umno has nothing to do with the Election Commission’s (EC) controversial redelineation proposal, said BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

"We (Umno) have not done (what has been accused),"

"We are going to gather all protests according to the set guidelines and regulations," he said.

He was speaking to reporters after opening the Pasir Salak Umno division delegates' meeting in Pasir Salak today, which was also attended by its division chief Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.

He said BN will hold a special meeting on Thursday to allow the various component parties to air their views.

He said the meeting will be attended by the secretaries-general of the various BN parties nationwide to discuss any dissatisfaction they have to the proposal before any decision is made to hand their objections to the EC before Oct 14.

"Umno has also requested state Umno liaision committees which have problems (on redelineation) to gather all suggestions or protests and the outcome of a study will be forwarded to EC.

"If we could, we would ask EC to review the redelineation as several Umno divisions are also unhappy, similarly the opposition could also register their dissatisfactions with EC," he said.

'Normal exercise'

Tengku Adnan, who is also Federal Territories minister, said the redelineation of electoral boundaries was a normal exercise held every eight to 12 years, depending on the increase of voters in the country.

EC secretary, Abdul Ghani Salleh had earlier announced the redelineation exercise was conducted according to Clause (2) Article 113 of the federal constitution and amendments to clause (2) article 14 of the Sabah state constitution as gazetted on Aug 18.

According to Abdul Ghani, EC would be displaying the redelineation of electoral boundaries for the peninsula and Sabah for one month starting from Sept 15 to Oct 14.

The proposal has drawn fierce criticism from both side of the political divide for various reasons, from widening the malapportionment of constsituencies to turning mixed constituencies into Malay majority seats, said to benefit Umno.

The Selangor government yesterday announced they will take legal action against the EC for not giving them a satisfactory reply over the methodology used in the redelineation of the state.

Electoral reform coalition Bersih is holding a rally on Nov 19 and has invited politicians from both sides of the political divide to take part in its seven-week nationwide convoy to promote the event.

Everybody knows UMNO do not need to instruct EC what to do, EC knows what to do for UMNO e.g. why EC has to create 1 MP in area of 7,000 rakyats and 1 MP in area with 70,000 rakyats?

ts true UMNO is not involved in the exercise. But line between BN and UMNO is blurred. Access to information on voters pattern is in the hands of the Ministry. Otherwise why bother with numbering each voter slip. Secondly government should not even bother with postal votes belonging to police and the army. They should not even allowed to vote. Thirdly why not limit to each no of voters per constituency including urban sectors. One can hope that EC reads wrongly the behavioural patterns of voters. But in this business knowledge is king.

UMNO had no hand removing the AG, it had no hand appointing the new MACC chief, it had no hand enabling the hudud bill by Hadi to be tabled in parliament, it had no hand spending the RM2.6 billion in Najibs personal account. Similarly, Hitler had no hand in 6 million jews dying in the gas chambers .If yu belief this then you will also belief that, Alantunya abducted herself and blew herself up to smithereens with C4
